A gentle Japanese practice for relaxation and balance
The word Reiki is often understood from two Japanese words: rei, meaning universal, and ki, meaning life force energy. In a session, Reiki is offered through light touch or with hands held just above the body, with the intention of supporting the natural flow of energy and encouraging a deep state of calm.
Reiki is not massage, counselling or a medical treatment. You remain fully clothed and do not need to do anything except settle comfortably. Some people notice warmth, tingling, heaviness, lightness or emotional release; others simply feel peaceful and rested. Each session is individual, and there is no “right” way to experience it.
Many clients choose Reiki when they feel stressed, tired, emotionally overloaded or disconnected from themselves. By creating a calm environment and giving the body and mind permission to pause, Reiki can support relaxation, clarity, grounding and a greater sense of wellbeing.
